Our cables have been cut on land opposite our house two weeks ago. There are a number of houses with no broadband or Telephone connection, openreach keep sending engineers out but they can't repair it an engineer was due to call today but no show, one came on Thursday took a look and never came back. I'm with ee but can't contact openreach as they keep telling me to contact my supplier.

We have no tv or radio as its all connected to to broadband or mobile signal is not good enough all see with ee.

Any suggestions for trying to get to the right department not just another engineer who can only fix the basics

Thanks

Pete

I have phoned ee 5 or 6 times they are calling me back again on Monday the problem is they keep sending an engineer from openreach that can't do the job then I complained and another engineer comes and can't fix it. Each time they think it's in the house even though I have explained it's cut cables outside.

@pzalick   you could report the damage to Openreach, although I am sure they will know about it by now.

@pzalick You said that Openreach cables have been cut in the field opposite you and several properties are affected. I assume they are overhead cables. You can report damage to Openreach equipment here: help-and-support/damage-health-and-safety

I have tried that but as its not dangerous it tells me to report it to my supplier ee

They are at ground level going up the side of the poll probably cut with a strimmer.

The engineer from openreach has done a report a week ago but still no repair

I keep seeing an openreach van thinking it going to be repaired to find it's another engineer who can't fix it but says they'll report.

I've tried contacting openreach but as its not dangerous it tells me to report it to my supplier which is ee and I've done that with no luck just going around in circles

It's unfortunate, but this is the nature of Openreach-based broadband. Openreach are responsible for the street-level infrastructure, but their contracts & points-of-contact are the wholesale suppliers not the end users.

Your point of contact has to be your supplier, this advice would apply equally to EE as any other. This may be an opportunity to review your TV & radio provision, if complete reliance on one technology creates hardship in the event of failure.
