I’ve just placed an order via EE’s website for the Fibre 67 Ultimate broadband package and wanted to check something that’s left me a bit confused.
During the order process, it stated that I would receive the Smart Hub 7 Plus along with the EE WiFi Extender 7 Plus, and that the installation would include a home visit.
However, after completing the order, my confirmation email now shows that I’ll be receiving the Smart Hub 6 Plus and the EE WiFi Extender 6 Plus, and that the installation will be self-installation instead.
I’m unsure why there’s a discrepancy between what was shown during checkout and what’s listed in the final confirmation.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or can clarify whether this is just a display error/typo, or if something has changed with my order?

@Luqy : Do you already have a fibre BB connection or is this a new connection?

@Luqy Fibre 67 Ultimate are you plugging into a OR Master Phone socket for the connection? If so then you require to use the 6+ EE Hub as it supports a modem stage, the 7+ version can only operate on a FF Full Fibre connection via an OR Openreach ONT!

This is a new connection. It’s worth mentioning we don’t have fibre where I live and so it’s only broadband that I’ve signed up for at 67Mbps

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is Master Socket 5C as I don’t have fibre but just the normal broadband.

@Luqy Then EE have it right, you need to use the EE Smarthub 6 Plus and the Extender that matches it. Self Install will also be correct as you are just going to plug that EE Hub into your 5C socket, and if using a Landline into the back of the EE Hub. Should be the SH31B version that you get with the VDSL modem interface.

Yes, you can only use the Smart Hub 6 + (SH31B) for partial Fibre BB (FTTC). This is specified in BROADBAND PLANS T&Cs for Ultimate Fibre :
Ultimate Fibre
• Smart Hub 6 Plus
• WiFi Controls
• WiFi Intelligence
• Advanced Web Protect
• Keep Connected Promise
• Cyber Security
• WiFi Optimiser
• WiFi Extender 6 Plus
• EE Guides Home Visit
• Connectivity Backup
As @JimM11 points out the Smart Hub 7 + is only for Full Fibre BB & has no DSL port to connect to your master phone socket 5C.
