Hi all
I'm currently with Andrews and Arnold for my broadband (FTTC) but Openreach are currently installing FTTP on my estate, half is currently live and street by street day by day extras get added. I'm looking at EE/BT as Andrews will be well north of £80 for the 900mb service and EE at present is around 45-48. If I combine my TV service as well I'm going to be saving serious money each month. Now I've used BT TV a lot in the past so I know the pros and cons of it but I can't seem to find a broadband answer anywhere.
The EE website states you can upgrade from FTTC to TP once live, which I assume is they offer you the 100ish mbs service. Does anyone know if the FTTP prices for upgrading FTTC customers is similar to that of new customers? What I'm trying to decide is if I pull the trigger on the move now and wait for my street to go live whilst on an EE FTTC line or just wait for the fully FTTP service to go live and order as. new customer.
Also can I check the 1.6gbs service still doesn't let you order TV?
Thanks

The FTTP prices for existing EE upgrading FTTC customers is higher than that for new customers. They were for me by £3 pm.

You will likely get a better offer and less to go wrong if you wait for it to go live before ordering.
Only certain packages have what is known as the Full Fibre Guarantee where it is supposed to be a somewhat automatic upgrade to the entry level tier of Full Fibre plans (Fibre 67 to Full Fibre 150 for example) but there have been mixed experiences with this. Details are on this page: https://ee.co.uk/broadband/fibre-broadband
There is the option of a mid-term regrade to a higher tier on all packages, but this generally (and quite obviously) means an increase in price to take you up to the relevant tier. In theory this shouldn't be a problem if you were wanting to go from a 74 Mbps to 900 Mbps as there is quite a difference in cost, it just requires renewing your contract for another 2 years with the upgrade.
