Extremely slow broadband

Ha74
Explorer

I have been using ee for a while now it wasn't as fast to begin with but recently it has gotten so slow to the point I can't watch basic things like netflix or YouTube on the TV when it's 1 room away from the box it gets slower than 1 Mbps speeds and I have tried a lot of things to fix it including going on the ee hub but still nothing fixes it and the gaming delays go up to 1118 ms which is around 11 seconds of delay

@Ha74 The first two rows are what is needed, has speed expected high low, up down the rest is all irrelevant, don't think your level on the site will allow you to capture and post, here is what mine would be for a copper connection.

VDSL Range A (Clean)

VDSL Range B (Impacted)

@Ha74 The easy way for you to get this sorted, have the property owner who has the EE Broadband contract deal with all the issues. It is the responsibility for them to control it all, if it was me you would not even be allowed access to it at all!

Nothing you can do and EE will not even speak to you in the slightest!

Once your picture posting is cleared for general viewing i will take a look at it, just not instant as it has to be checked out!

Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

You'll never get 10 Meg on that line, 5.5 Meg max.

If you would like help with your BB speed or connection issues, please would you carry out the following steps for starters, which will enable us to diagnose the problem and advise you further. Do not restart your router to do these tests:

1. Post your full router stats:

  • For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs. Also post the Home > Status page.
  • For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings > System > DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.
  • For other routers: login to it according to the label on it as the admin user & navigate looking for its router/connection statistics.

Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

2. Try a speedtest, preferably wired using an Ethernet cable supplied with the router, here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.

@Ha74 If you have any form off mobile connection available to you would look at that method off Internet supply you may even have to do something like starlink satellite comms for any kind off speed, you are not going to get much on that phone line connection ever! If Full Fibre is available from any supplier at your address location that is also another option for you especially from an altnet that leaves the original connection there alone!

As a matter of interest, what exchange are on?

You are not expected to understand fully the result from the BT Checker but just to provide it to us so we can interpret it in order to help you.

Unlikely as this seems to be a rural area with the OP being about at least 2 miles from the exchange, presumably at the nearest centre of population.

@XRaySpeX Sorry do not see what the exchange has to do with getting a mobile broadband service!
