We had the wi-fi dropout problem which looks to be fixed by the latest firmware, r4.26.3. However, we still have one problem which wasn't there prior to the r4.16.1 update and is not fixed by r4.26.3. This is that one laptop, an HP, reconnects to the wi-fi every 6 seconds. The Hub is an SH31B
This issue is not obvious unless you look at the log, or do something like streaming or a video call and notice that it is freezing or stuttering.
Please, everyone, go to the Hub web page at 192.168.1.254, go to Advanced Settings, Technical Log / Event log tab and scan the log for any device (MAC address) connecting multiple times. You will probably need to hit the Next page button several times, but with us, the same MAC address connecting every 6 seconds becomes very obvious after only a couple of next page-s.
If you ARE getting this problem, can you please post here and include info such as Main vs Comp wifi, what GHz it's connecting at, and anything else you think relevant.
Thanks

@Cliff_G Agreed, Powerline works then just keep it connected that way!
Just checked and did the same steps with my old wifi4 Asus laptop from 2013, exact same results as posted earlier by the looks off it.

Interestingly getting the same issue on my Windows 11 PC since around May when the hub firmware was updated to 4.28 (now on 4.29). Sometimes connects to the extender immediately, other times connects to the more distant hub, then will randomly disconnect when trying to browse a different site. To maintain the 900MB speed, I've forced the PC to use the 5Ghz band, as it would try 2.4Ghz.
Similar to your log, my log is showing frequent issues with the WLAN-Autoconfig MsmSecurity tasks frequently connecting and disconnecting with encryption type AES-GCMP-256. However it becomes stable once it tries AES-CCMP encryption and I have no further MsmSecurity entries after this happens.
Not sure whether this is is a Windows issue. driver issue or EE Hub / Extender issue, will have to do some more experimenting to nail it down.

@jbareham Completely different EE Hub if your FW that you are reporting is correct. Check your windows 11 build. 26200.8973

My Windows 11 Build is 26200.8973, have Hub 7 Pro and Wireless extender both on 4.29. Have checked my wifi card capability with 'netsh wlan show drivers' and reports back the following (it is on the latest available driver)
WPA3-Personal CCMP
WPA3-Enterprise CCMP
WPA3-Enterprise TKIP
WPA3-Enterprise 192 Bits GCMP-256
The hub is set to WPA3-Personal Transitional, so not sure at the moment why the card is trying to negotiate a connection using GCMP instead of CCMP.

@jbareham You can either go up to full WPA3 mode and see what happens with it and that fully depends on what else you have for wifi 7 ONLY devices, or drop back which i think you may have done to WPA2-Personal connection on the EE Hub, possible it is your windows machine but trust not the Transitional option. Future windows correction is around the corner patch tuesday coming up shortly, but did see the WLAN struggle with the previous patch and i am set FULLY WPA2-Personal although wifi6 on the Hub as AX is it's baby and the laptop is only wifi5 but 160Mhz capable which it holds fine. Latest download calmed the writes down in the log file.... Have xxx out to get through the filters without issue and mod's changing....

Many such entries but not 100% same as you may be seeing for your specific connection to your Extender or Hub.
Wireless security stopped.

@JimM11 Can only select WPA-3 Personal or WPA-3 Personal Transitional on the Hub 7 Pro, one option may be to go to WPA3 Personal mode, and enable Compatible Wifi which allows a separate WPA2 Wifi for the WPA3 incompatible devices. The PC is 801.11ax Wifi 6E compatible, but some further experimentation and waiting for patch Tuesday might eventually resolve this.

@jbareham interesting. How did you get the machine to use AES-CCMP? And what flavour of W11 is yours, Home, Pro, Enterprise, etc.? I'd like to see if this makes a difference on a W10 Home version. Claude suggests the AES type is simply a function of the WPA type, and is only GCMP on WPA.Enterprise. All else is CCMP.

@jbareham Just be careful when you go Up on the Main, all the OLD devices that are NOT WPA3 fully will not connect at all.
Will have a look on my 6e Laptop to see what is going on, the desktop is MOSTLY wired but occasionally i double up on both for max throughput when i need the transfer speed.
NO 6e 6Ghz on my Asus Router that's for sure.
Edit:- Have powered it up, one version back windows 11 still, disconnected the Lan connection and running on wifi, fired up fine minimal entries GCMP-128 connected just now but will give it a check in a few hours time. Have steered it towards the same Asus AP as the other laptop, hopefully it does not jump to the Main Router.

@JimM11 Windows 11 Home. The PC eventually after a number of starts and stops of the WLAN service tries the CCMP rather than the GCMP, but no way to configure. Sometimes it connects immediately. The driver indicates that it should use CCMP for WPA3 Personal, but tries GCMP instead, can't find out why yet. The Compatible Wifi option on the hub covers those items that can't connect via WPA3. The Smart Hub 7 Pro does have 6Ghz connection, but I found I get full 900MB speed on 5Ghz, so use that. Logs are below, definitely looks something to do with attempting to connect with GCMP instead of CCMP.
