Ee pro hub versus TP Link Be 9300

Hello all,

I have been on the 1.6 gb package for 12 months now and as we know the EE plus hub they originally supplied comes with 4 1gb ports so I have never been able to achieve the speed I am paying for.

so now they have released the EE Pro hub which they are supplying with the busiest home package which I am on , so after speaking to 12 different people had lots of people telling me different things about replacing my hub with a pro one , after sending out 2 Wi-Fi plus hub extenders and various tell tale stories about stock of the pro hub and other stories.

i am now in the position (so I am told , believe when I see it , the order to send me a pro hub will go in next week ) .

My question is as the title has anyone tried the pro hub , the TP link hub is a great price at the moment so by the time they have sent me a pro hub the top link one would have gone back up as it’s Black Friday deal.

Is the TP link hub better then the Ee pro hub ? , I don’t want to wait for the EE pro hub not to turn up and I miss out on the TP link hub the Be 9300 one.

So am I better just going for the TP link Be 9300 or hopefully get the EE pro one ?.

Thanks for any advice but really get annoyed with EE customer service and promises and just getting sent from pillar to post.

@GosforthUK - let me know how it goes. My (admittedly rudimentary) understanding is that it's a QoS thing so shouldn't really care about channel utilisation.

@bobpullen interestingly, my latency it's now better wirhour WiFi enhancer, than with it 🙂 means, even that QoS seems not really be optimised...

And when it was ON, it was falsely reporting as game mode it's in force and actively enhancing some game, even none game was playing on any of my devices. Like reporting 8h enhanced of Game, when that day I was playing ZERO game..

Don't forget, as it was in past suspended, whilst there was problems, and for many, it wasn't even possible to activate it on APP before.. Perhaps, I was one, who can not activate it, but shortly after I switched to SH Pro, it becomes available for me, and I let it try... big mistake...

performed full factory reset of SH PRo...

I have back 320 Mhz channel for 6 Ghz Wifi7, defaulting as expected on channel 69...

WiFi7 - 802.11be, MIMO 4x4
PHY speed down 1921 Mbps
PHY speed up 4322 Mbps
PHY Speed Capablility 11529 Mbps

Channel utilisation 1%

When I do allow 5 Ghz channel on SH Pro:

It defaults to channel 36 with 80 Mhz widht, to shortly after change to 104 with theoretical PHY sPeed Capability 5765 Mbps (Ch 104) and Channel Utilisation about 34%

Channel ~100 will take 10 mins or so to clear due to regulation, so the settling is to be expected. Having 320Mhz back is good but I do wonder why you lost it in the first place 🤔

@GosforthUK When you are turning of the channel's on the EE router, you can have no idea what to expect the operation for it to turn out to be or in what mode that it is going to try to operate in. WiFi Enhancer is and appears to really upset the operation, was reported to do so in the + and now also in the Pro, QOS in a badly setup router causes chaos.
