Ee pro hub versus TP Link Be 9300

Hello all,

I have been on the 1.6 gb package for 12 months now and as we know the EE plus hub they originally supplied comes with 4 1gb ports so I have never been able to achieve the speed I am paying for.

so now they have released the EE Pro hub which they are supplying with the busiest home package which I am on , so after speaking to 12 different people had lots of people telling me different things about replacing my hub with a pro one , after sending out 2 Wi-Fi plus hub extenders and various tell tale stories about stock of the pro hub and other stories.

i am now in the position (so I am told , believe when I see it , the order to send me a pro hub will go in next week ) .

My question is as the title has anyone tried the pro hub , the TP link hub is a great price at the moment so by the time they have sent me a pro hub the top link one would have gone back up as it’s Black Friday deal.

Is the TP link hub better then the Ee pro hub ? , I don’t want to wait for the EE pro hub not to turn up and I miss out on the TP link hub the Be 9300 one.

So am I better just going for the TP link Be 9300 or hopefully get the EE pro one ?.

Thanks for any advice but really get annoyed with EE customer service and promises and just getting sent from pillar to post.

@Dukesy1 ISP router tied down as much as they can for the least customers to mess it up, Non ISP free to do what you need, loads of flexibility, and you have the choice. ISP router free for the period that you have the contract for. Choices. The TP-Link user's will no doubt jump in and advise. Just keep away from the BE550, that is now obsoleted by TP-Link after a short life period.

Thanks for reply ,

The TP Link router I am looking at is the BE9300 but further down on the box it does say Archer BE550, is this the one advising against ?. Every video I have watched on YT rates this router really highly, is the price drop on Black Friday due to them being obsoleted then as they are down to £200 now.

Thanks.

@Dukesy1 It is already obsoleted, so just not going to get the focus from Tp-Link in the future, but go for it pretty good price for the router. That's why all the others are scarce and hard to find.

EE SmartHub Pro is, how it was already mentioned, CONSUMER device, which works, but You sacrificing freedom to change what You want, how You want

I have my from stat of October, when month and something, it was working perfectly, giving me 320 Mhz channel on 6 Ghz band, and it just was working, till moment, I decided, as I will try their finally available WiFi enhancer...

Ups, big mistake.. Hub now sit on 160 Mhz channel max, and performance its dreadfull... Guide from NextGen team removed that piece of ..... and guess what? nope, SH Pro it's still refusing to go for 320 Mhz channel and even litle better, performance it's way worse, than before...

Maybe time to upgrade my EAP683 with EAP773 and forget again any EE kit..

@GosforthUK don't suppose you have an Android phone? If so, I'd be interested to know what the scan functionality of the Ubiquiti WiFiMan app tells you? Really confused how WiFi Enhancer could impact the channel operation of your hub.

@bobpullen unfortunatelly, WiFi enhancer somehow as default trying to pursue "smart" channel association and, by worlds of NextGen Guuide, also seems to prefer lower Channel wide, to reduce latency in logic, as lower channel widht = less possible interference and more stable performance...

Yeah, I do have Android, will install Ubiquity and perform few tests...
