Sorry for replying to an old thread, but I’m getting EE FTTP in the new year and want to do this, plug my asus mesh straight into wall. Will EE help me set it up when they install?

@Dallybally : No, but it is pretty straightforward, Just set the WAN connection as PPPoE with BB Username = bthomehub@btbroadband.com & BB pwd = BT.
It'll be OR who's coming.

Thanks a lot, that’s super easy. I thought maybe you had to configure something the other end. Don’t OR only do outside and EE do inside though?

Not that I know of! It's OR who fit the ONT & all leading up to it.

Is it literally that user name and password? Not my EE username and password?

Yes, @Dallybally , literally. It's certainly not your MyEE username and password, if that's what you are referring to; no connection at all. If you were a legacy EE BB user you would have an EE-specific BB username and password as an alternative.

@Dallybally Openreach install inside and the internal ONT (Fibre Modem) but all ISP's that use their network send out a self install router. A nice Cuppa and a few chocie biscuits and they may help you connect up the ISP supplied router. There are no EE techs that make home visits on installs.
Openreach do however have a good guide to help you understand what will happen on the day. https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/full-fibre-broadband-installation-checklist
Well worth watching, so you can get the most out of the installation. The default ONT location will be in the easiest place for them - which may not be ideal for you - so do have a think. You can however put the router where you want, providing you can run a suitable LAN cable, Cat5E or better.
You need to work out where your duct comes across the block paving, then decide where you want the ONT terminating - and if not in the default position what might be practical. The more you can do before your install the better.

Cheers, it’s my own router to setup, but changing to pppoe is so easy I’ll be fine. Thought it might be trickier. I got lucky, they can dig into the duct in the small strip I’ve got that isn’t block paved, have already agreed where they are putting the outside box. I thought they’d have to dig up the block paved road to get to me, but the duct is fine.
