EE acknowledge Wi-Fi connections issues

Just had this text from EE:

"Hi, it's EE.

We're aware that some customers may be experiencing issues with devices connecting to Wi-Fi. If your Wi-Fi doorbell, camera, smart speaker or other connected device isn't working as expected, please try restarting your hub and the affected device to temporarily restore connectivity.

Our engineers are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. A temporary workaround is available now, and you'll find simple step-by-step instructions at https://ee.co.uk/sh3wifi  There's no need to call us, as the latest guidance is available online.

We're sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue and thanks for your patience while we fix it."

That link eventually takes you to the same fix discussed here since last week, reset the 2.4GHz to fixed channel.

I'm very much hoping their fix will be a firmware update since the last update is what caused this. If you want to track whether this is what happens, go into your Router ( https://192.168.1.254 ) and note your current version. The one with the problem is r4.26.1-R-1860948-PROD-83002   so I shall be watching that, and hoping that it also fixes my 6-second reconnection problem on one device.

I've no idea whether another firmware update will reset any configuration you have applied (such as starting the compatible wifi, guest wifi, port forwarding, whatever) so it may also be worth noting down the changes you are running with.

Hi, I have also done all this nearly on a daily basis and just like you it seems to be my blink system, smart tv's.  They need to fix ASAP otherwise i will need to reconsider my provider.

@Beki17 Best you do the official complaint process especially if you are in contract.

Sorted. Turned out to be the wretched extender 6 which was the issue.

Extremely helpful EE Tech expert got me to re boot and link it using an ethernet cable and lo and behold everything works seamlessly so far.

It appears the Extender needed a better connection to the router (although it shows as an extremely  strong / perfect connection) when pairing and because of this devices were flipping between the two.

@JonT69 Always something to throw the arms up in the Air, smart wireless not being so smart then? The mesh on EE is just not easy to work out, there is just not enough tools in the tool box to look see, Advanced Wireless, the Extenders tab and see what the wireless signal strength is at may help to guide a little. https://192.168.1.254 to get on and use the web manager interface to the EE Hub. Extracted from the EE help link below.

"""Following a recent firmware update, some Smart Hub Plus customers may find that certain WiFi devices or WiFi extenders have trouble connecting."""

Edit:- @JonT69 Linked to another post, it shows the Extender and also that the FW is updated or indicating so along with the signal strength....

Hi Jim .. sadly that wasn't the cause. They're all offline again this morning.

I continue to believe that given the devices are cameras, a heat pump and a dishwasher, it relates to the known issue they have described caused by the Firmware update

Following a recent firmware update, some Smart Hub Plus customers may find that certain WiFi devices or WiFi extenders have trouble connecting.

This is when the problem started and it is still ongoing. Hopefully the firmware update over the weekend will sort the issue once and for all.
