Since switching to EE I have found that the quality when using Teams is not great - buffers on video calls and freezes. Other colleagues who are with EE have the same issue. Fine on all other platforms - WhatsApp etc. Are EE aware of this?

I’ve replied to Rach but so everyone else can see where I’ve got to, I’m convinced it’s something within the EE network but outside of my house.

I’m using a work laptop & EE router, I had my work laptop replaced yesterday and still have same problems with a new laptop today. Laptops both work perfectly in the office so issue only occurs at home.

I bought & tried a TP-link router to rule out the EE one being the problem and it is the same.

I’ve now tried hotspotting my phone using 5G and teams works perfectly on my laptop using the app.

Within the app, normal one to one video calls do not work but if I connect to a meeting within my calendar it works fine.

The issue is also only happening on teams app, teams via the browser works perfectly which ties in with what others are finding too.

Teams on my phone is also fine & so is FaceTime / WhatsApp video calls.

I found some very weird routing issues when trying to diagnose some issues with a VPN I had set up. Whilst I can't say for sure the issue might impact Microsoft Teams, it is worth keeping in mind in case it does.

With the recent firmware update from EE, I found I was having some serious connectivity issues. In the end I had to totally nuke my internal network (hub + extenders) in order for the strange routing issues to disappear. It might actually be worth doing a full reset on all devices and also reboot all devices that are on your network after re-pairing everything.

I can't say for certain this will fix Microsoft Teams issues, but I would not be surprised if it did help. I know in my case I had a whole lot of connectivity issues, and the reset has managed to solve these. Hopefully it holds over the coming days/weeks/months.

Hi there,

I've popped you both a Private Message @AndyC-66 and @jonathan_c. If you could take a look and get back to me, that would be great.

Thanks,

Rach

Hi,

I have been on the phone to EE to try and sort an issue I am having and been onto my works IT too and its so strange I dont know what the fix is.

So I have got the Smart Hub Pro and Smart Wifi Device at home. When I am on my works laptop and on teams with colleagues or a meeting and I go to share screen it takes forever and then freezes or very big delay. This is on the Desktop version of teams.

I have been through some diagnostics with my IT dep and one of those was to ry using my phone hotspot as the connection and not WIFI and try again. I did this and it worked instantly no freezing and no delay.

I also tried the webapp version through MS Edge on Wifi not hotspot and this also worked instantly no problem and no delay either.

I called EE and they said its not their issue and now I am confused because its not the laptop either. Has anyone else had this issue?

Cheers,

Luke

Does anyone know if this has been sorted? I have the exact same issue and so does my colleague both on EE.

My issue is when trying to share screens on the desktop app of Teams on my works laptop on WiFi it freezes and take so long with massive delay. Weirdly it works instantly through hotspot on my phone. It also weirdly works through instantly the web app of teams on my laptop but not desktop.

Ive tried port forwarding but nothing.

I shared details with Rach and magically yesterday teams worked perfectly for me. I was working in the office today so will be interesting to see if it works tomorrow when I’m at home again or if I’m back to having issues.
