Can't access EE broadband controls or home hub webpage

As the title says really. Over the past couple of weeks I've been unable to edit any settings either in the 192.268... page or in the EE app for my broadband. A reset/reboot does not resolve the issue - any ideas?

We control our child's devices through the app to turn off at bedtime so not having access to it is a bit troublesome lol.

Hi @Jonjon1239,

Thanks for visiting the EE Community

If you have not already I would recommend uninstalling and re-installing the app to clear any potential issues there, as well as logging in on the app on another device if possible to confirm if it does work on another or if you have the same issue.

If its not resolved by a re-installation of the app please give our technical team a call so they can run some checks on your account to get the parental controls feature working for you.

@Jonjon1239 Just in case, 192.168.1.254 for the web manager interface to the newer EE Routers, app chocolate teapot or fireguard!

Yeah that's the address I've been using, no good on a mobile device or my pc unfortunately

@Jonjon1239 You should be able to get to the web manager with the pc, try http://192.168.1.254 to your EE Smarthub+

You may get a http to https redirect as think those hubs are now getting more secured with FW updates.

The app does require to be used for all the parental controls and groups etc!

It just spins until I get the below error unfortunately;

We experienced difficulty getting the data. Please reload the page.

@Jonjon1239 That network error was resolved 18 months ago and a FW update sorted it out, are you wireless/wired connected to the EE Router, tried another PC to it or a different browser on your PC, google or edge user/ win or mac!

App if you ever get it working think it does show what version the EE Smarthub+ is on, latest is below!

FW: r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 3.1.3. 10/10/2025 Now https://

@Jonjon1239 - might be worth going the nuclear option and trying a factory reset of the hub by inserting something into the reset pinhole until the status LED goes green.

Do you have any extenders, and if so, have you tried rebooting those too?

I have tried both wired to my PC in Chrome and Edge, WiFi to my PC and phone and wired via power line to a laptop. Still no joy.

I don't like the nuclear option but I will if I have too.

I do have three extenders which I haven't rebooted to be fair so will try that next.
