Hiya, I've got two EE Smart Wifi Pro Extenders and in the management page they say that one off them connects to the hub and the other connects to the other extender. Is this the correct behaviour? I've found that client hand off on these nodes is really poor so trying to resolve that. It seems you can get whichever node comes online first to connect to the hub and the second one always connects to the first node.
I've also noticed that they don't run the same firmware, one of them is the same firmware as the hub and the other is not. I've factory reset the one with older firmware and tried to get it to update but it wont. Both extenders connected with ethernet backhaul.

Whilst it is possible to daisy chain our Smart WiFi extenders, this isn't what we would usually recommend,
When you mention both being connected via Ethernet, are they each directly connected to the hub permanently, or was this just for the initial pairing?
Are both models identical bar the difference in firmware, too?

Both are connected to the hub via a switch for ethernet backhaul. Both are identical bar the firmware.

What I'd recommend here is to di a full factory reset on all three devices, including the main Hub, then try and re-pair them again, connecting direct via separate ethernet cables rather than the switch.
Leave this for at least an hour, and it should allow the firmware on the second extender to update.
Provided this all completes as it should, you can then give it another go with the switch.

That's how we use ours, the only difference is we use smart plugs to connect the ethernet. Mine had different firmware but still connected fine via ethernet - all i had to do was prod the WPS button on the hub and the extender. I've got 4 of them connected like this. All of them connect back to the hub, none of them are connected to each other.
All i'd suggest is factory reset the one that's not connected to the hub and then use the hub WPS button and then the device WPS button to connect them, do not use the WPS button on the extender until you've pushed the hub WPS button and do not try and daisy chain them by pushing the WPS button on each extender in case they try and connect to each other.

Mine have been running the firmware they were delivered with and have never updated, they have been reset many times. The older runs r2.64.6-R-1303886-PROD-1 and the newer r2.64.7-R-1303938-PROD-1 which is the same as the hub.
