EE FTTP query

Basically in a few weeks, I will hopefully be getting 500Mbps FTTP with EE.   However a couple years ago I tried getting FTTP with my old ISP Plusnet, but the Openreach engineer couldn't thread the fibre cabling through the blocked duct.  They have recently managed to thread the fibre cabling through.  If for some other strange reason, my house can't get FTTP broadband again, will I be switched to EE's fastest available FTTC service (up to 76Mbps), and will it cost me less than the 500Mbps service?

Many thanks

AS I say, as WBC FTTP is available there EE will not sell you VDSL.

You'll just have to wait until they install FTTP & see what happens. There's no reason why they shouldn't succeed.

@Rossby And your input information does show Fibre is available and if you do wish to use also the (fibre checker from OR) double check and then go look if EE is supplying to you as expected, but would say you are good to go, but keep in mind until done anything can happen....

@Rossby  thanks, that is all that I requested, not sure why it was so difficult. The chart shows no blockages, you are not on a fibre priority exchange so all should go OK. You will not automatically be transferred to an EE FTTC service if the fibre instal fails, but you could request. it if you wanted it. Costs would depend on charges at the time of talking.

All a bit crstal ball stuff, you should not worry and just wait to see what happens on the 12th.

@Rossby Next up for you, link below for the video OR as to what you can expect. YOU have now time to think about what/where/when after you watch the video, The ONT that will be installed, the EE router that you will receive few days before, and how your network is currently working and any potential tripping points. Link as before is below.

EE will supply you the router, psu for it, and a short 6 foot long cable to connect to the ONT. Installation engineer may help you a little, BUT it is not the responsibility for them to get you up running and as happy as you can be, if using landline phone then you will be going 100% DV with that, section on the Forum dedicated to have a look at if needed.
