Duplicate EE WiFi Extender 7 Pros Visible in EE App

I have the EE WiFi 7 (Smart Hub model SH40J), this comes with a WiFi Extender Pro 7 (Smart WiFi model SW4OJ)

I have run through the set up of the hub, pairing it with app installed on my iPhone 14 Pro  and then walked through the set up of the WiFi Extender. All paired and looks good.

I then move the WiFi extender as it stated in the app that it was "too close", so I unplug it and position it in a different area of my house. After doing that I now have two extenders in my devices list on the app. One with no signal but all my device connected to it, but i cant control it (hub lights or rename it etc) and the other which I can control, it does have a good signal but no devices?

Ive been through several calls with EE, logged cases with them via chat but nothing seems to work to remove the duplicate extender.

I have logged out of the app, deleted the app, rebooted both my iPhone and the hub and WiFI extender, reinstalled the latest verison of the app, re paired to the hub, but I still get the two extenders?

The only fix is to fully reset both hub and extender to factory defaults. However the issue then is, when I attempt to set up the extender in the new location (IE not too close to the main hub) the WPS pairing never works.

I find it weird that EE do not provide the option for "move extender" or "delete extender" in the app or even on the browser version of the hub manager.

Anyone else faced this or know of a fix?

Ive just gone through the whole factory re-set of both the hub and extender, and set up up again. I connected the extender in the spot it will stay, and all looked good, but lo and behold the duplicate extender has returned to the app (even without me powering it down and back up).

I do have the 4G backup router as well, not sure if this could be a factor?

There is some weird issue with the app.

I dont get why the option to delete / remove an extender isnt in avalible?

Funny enough I have a 4g back up router aswell so maybe possible

But I agree there should be an option to remove/delete on the app

@DavidSmale44 Are you sure it's not supposed to be shown that way, one for Ethernet connected and the other for wireless wifi connected as devices?

The only ethernet connected devices are connected to the main hub not the wifi extender, and all the devices listed as connected to the extender which is displayed with no signal are all connected via WifI.

I reset my network back to defaults again but this time I didnt go through connect the 4G backup hub, and ive left it unplugged and switched off. Its only been one day  but it seems to have worked. Ive only got the one extender which is named correctly and displaying a a good signal. So it could well be the 4G backup hub thats causing the issue.

Hello,

So I believe the issue and the solution is not to have my backup 4G hub connected. Since fully reseting my network back to defaults, and adding just the WiFi extender I have not experianced the issue again.

Potentially the issue is I have an old 4G backup hub that was previously given to me when I was with BT. When I moved to EE they said I can keep the hub, and it does work as I tested it. However maybe their are compatability issues with the older model number and the newer hub and extender.

In any case I have removed the 4G backup hub from my network and all seems to be working as expected.
