Does EE offer a public ip (I thought BT does), is BT and EE the same company now? I am a bit confusing now. also if not IPv4, do you have IPv6 public ip?

@turingway What do you mean by a public ip? If you mean a static ip, then no.
EE has been part of the BT Group for about 10 years, but like Plusnet operates as an independent ISP.
Recent changes have meant that EE. Focus on residential customers, whilst BT focus on business customers.

The public external IPs issues to its BB users is dynamic, not static. That means it can potentially change every time the line re-syncs.

but is it public, even is dynamic? I cannot seem to use the port forwarding service with my new installed EE network

or does EE use CGNAT?

@turingway it might be better if you were to explain what you are trying to do, and show us a pic of your port forwad settings.
Which router do you have?
Do you have a rule for each port? Or are you trying to group more than one pert per rule?
EE Home broadband does not use CGNAT. That is used on mobile services.

can we host a server at home and access it when we are not at home?

@turingway : Yes, with the right router. You've said nowt about your circumstances.
You would need a router that supports both DDNS & Port Forwarding. The latest EE routers don't support DDNS.

Yes, I've just said so.

Seems your post got moved from the other thread.
In answer, you can if you know what you are doing and if you have a suitable router.
However as already said, ip addresses are dynamic, meaning they can change every time your router resynchs so you would need to do more that port forward some ports.
