Does anyone know how I deactivate the voicemail on my landline please

The main problem is - WHY do I.T. companies INSIST on users having THEIR voicemail and then make it so difficult to TURN OFF THAT VOICEMAIL??? Why can't it be a simple OPTION? You get the same frustrations on all the 'phone companies and they JUST DON'T LISTEN!!! LET US TURN YOUR UNWANTED VOICEMAIL OFF!

Both EE Mobile and Landline voicemail is a PAIN! MAKE IT AN OPTION WHEN YOU SELL IT and make it EASY for customers to GET RID OF IT!
Just dial *** - doesn't work for so many. Must try harder or stop calling yourself Customer Support.

Not sure why you feel that way when it comes to mobile.
To remove your voicemail, you can either
1. Text VM OFF to 150 or
2. Dial ##002# from your phone the same way you would a phone number.
Both will immediately remove the voicemail from your line.
I agree with your overall sentiment though. Thankfully the ##002# option works for EE, Vodafone and O2. Three on the other hand make it so difficult, you have to chat to customer services to do it.

LET US TURN YOUR UNWANTED VOICEMAIL OFF! From our Landlines and Mobiles. Is that REALLY too much to ask?
Both EE Mobile and Landline voicemail is a PAIN! MAKE IT AN 'OPT IN' WHEN YOU SELL IT and make it EASY for customers to GET RID OF IT! Extending the rings is ok, until we're on the 'phone, then EE/BT IMMEDIATELY switches the caller to their UNWANTED voicemail, GGGrrrrrrrhhhh!

Guys - don't pull your hairs out !!
Simple and easiest solution is to speak to an EE Customer Services Advisor and ask him to turn OFF the Voicemail Service on your landline number - As I did so myself today 26 July 2024 - so the incoming calls do not go to Voicemail. Also set the ring times to 10 Rings in your Landline EE Digital Phone Settings in your EE Account , and your Hands-Free Answerphone Machine to around 7 Rings. So the unanswered calls go first to the standalone answerphone machine before Voicemail.
The same number of 10 rings ( or maximum ) should be set on your Mobile Phone as well.
I use the Landline Digital Adapter from BT that plugs into any 3-Pin mains wall socket - for my Panasonic Hands-Free Answerphone machine. ( the adapter has to paired with your WiFi Smart Hub before connecting to the answerphone machine)
Hope this helps you all.

@rodri50 Can you test that the EE voicemail has been switched of by stopping your answering machine from taking the call. The 10 rings that you mention is before the EE system goes to voicemail, and it has been reported that EE Cannot switch off the voicemail on the system. Once you know if it works or not, can you post back your results. The main problem is that customers want the phone to continually ring until answered or not, and do not want EE voicemail cutting in after the 10 rings.

I’ve just been migrated from BT to EE for home broadband and digital voice (contract renewal). Voicemail had been off with BT but it was put back on with EE so I looked up voice account settings and there was no option to disable it. Phoned CS who checked and advised neither they nor I can switch it off. This is a very new policy apparently. Oh dear. Setting it on a high ring number before voicemail kicks in is no good for me as I am one digit away from a taxi firm’s number and frequently get late night incoherent calls/messages clogging up voicemail.
Just have to hope EE have a change of mind soon!

@JayKayGee a staff member gave this answer when it was asked in a similar thread.
Voicemail is activated by default and is set to 7 rings.
Dial 1571 to see if you've any new messages. Voicemail can be turned off in the EE app if you'd prefer to use the answer phone on your handsets.
