Connection Dropping Out At The Same Time Every Day

Hello!

I have recently moved to EE broadband and it has been mostly working pretty well. I have had an issue with it for a while where the connection would drop for a minute/two sometime in the hour of 12am every single day. It has also changed with the clocks so it has stayed at the hour of 12am.

It's incredibly frustrating to be doing something and being disconnected from everything. Playing online gets hit the hardest as you can imagine.  The connection drops for both Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

The logs in the admin panel of the router don't show anything for this at all. This wasn't a problem when I was using Sky.

There are no other issues. Speed is fantastic, the other 23 hours of the day works perfectly.

I am on the 1700mbps package using the Wi-Fi 7 Smart Hub Pro.

Iv had same issue for months gave up on ee support as i was told it was my problem and as I had 33 devices attatched to the network I was told to get rid of some  HAHA

Ok so Iv put some rasbary pies and installed orb on them and put them on each lan port got 2 of them and got a Sam knows as seen in pic that one is more precise

it don’t affect all lan ports ant its happening on different ports at different times usilualu within minutes

any one els got some pies laying about and can install orb and see what thay think stick one in each port

I did and was told to remove devices from the network and not to use switches I’m just confused how to add 20 ish ethernet devices to 4 lan ports without a switch and there only 1gig ports anyway on a 1.6 service some one in finance got there way in that meeting

Hi

sorry to hear this, I’m stuck in a two year contract. My connection has never been worse since moving to EE. I’m couldn’t down the days to leave. They won’t fix it, and just pay lip service. It’s actually really annoying to pay for gb internet and hit the legendary dial up speed.
I recommend anyone considering joining EE not to. Worst shower since Talk Talk.
Apparently my line is great… the last engineer popped to his van, fired up his laptop fixed what he had to then returned, to tell me nothing is wrong. Pure gaslighting.

avoid at all costs

Are you above there min guaranteed speed on a 900 it’s 700 I think or you on vdsl or on a dinosaur dsl

Hey,

A dinosaur... lol, it feels like I'm on the fossil express to no where.

Min guaranteed is 700mb, but I'm getting 0 - 120mb over wifi 7  (no it's not their crappy kit) and my mesh routers (3 of them) are hardwired with cat 8 (yeah overkill) that I have running through the walls and loft. On wifi I'm getting 54mb on an iphone pro 15 max. 10mb on a macbook pro m4 The last engineer who came out didn't even check the speed until he went back to his van, moved it so I couldn't see him on his phone and laptop (my neighbour did). Then all of a sudden I was getting 700-800mb. Then he comes back and looks at me, everything seem fine? A day later and back to speeds that rise and drop like a rollercoaster. It's not an enjoyable ride and I can't get off.

To anyone thinking of joined EE, don't, It's a terrible experience.

😞

Iv been there done that sounds same set up

thay will o guarantee that speed to the hub over a hard wire not to a extender or over wifi

Iv used cat 6a the extender is defo using Ethernet back hall check in setting only reason I ask is I did it wrong bumped the switch on to the wall then put the extender in to it  and the extender was using wifi back hall as I had a bad connection

Iv now got raspberry pie orb’s monitoring each switch old kit hanging about

Hi James,

That's a good idea. I've turned on QOS and Network monitoring -  I'll keep this running for more detailed picture of what is going on.

Thanks
