Connection Dropping Out At The Same Time Every Day

Hello!

I have recently moved to EE broadband and it has been mostly working pretty well. I have had an issue with it for a while where the connection would drop for a minute/two sometime in the hour of 12am every single day. It has also changed with the clocks so it has stayed at the hour of 12am.

It's incredibly frustrating to be doing something and being disconnected from everything. Playing online gets hit the hardest as you can imagine.  The connection drops for both Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

The logs in the admin panel of the router don't show anything for this at all. This wasn't a problem when I was using Sky.

There are no other issues. Speed is fantastic, the other 23 hours of the day works perfectly.

I am on the 1700mbps package using the Wi-Fi 7 Smart Hub Pro.

Any updates to this?

im on a 1gb setup with the WiFi pro router and 3 of their mesh extenders  and have a lot of home automation and cctv. It’s been driving me crazy all the disconnects and reconnects im getting. Also even though I can ping devices on the network my home automation server can’t talk to some devices. Since I’ve added a seperste deco  mesh kit the devices now talk back to my server. Something’s odd with this ee router.

@mccltd-1 The latest FW update to the Pro router was alleged to alleviate the disconnect's, and the pre time disconnect's that where happening from midnight on, so are you still getting the same symptom's with the router.

With the Deco mesh you added, did you set it up with a different ssid and ethernet the primary deco unit to the EE Pro router.

It was reported disconnect's where wireless and ethernet all devices disconnected for a short period, but the router looked ok led wise as always in the connected state, unit recovered and reconnected by itself. Latest FW below if you wish to check that you are on it.

FW: r2.64.7-R-1303938-PROD-1 and the gui is at App version 2.34.2. 07/02/2025

Hi, yes my deco unit has a separate ssid and it Appears I’m on latest firmware, Thankyou.

i tried changing my lease renewal time in the setup  as well thinking it was that but it made now difference.

@mccltd-1 Keep an eye on the camera's system wise, with the fact that you have a separate ssid for the deco and if you have no disconnect's deco wise, will prove that mesh is up good, you do not say how the deco is connected, but will assume your primary deco is connected by Ethernet to the EE Pro router unless you post otherwise.

You just got to pin down now what is happening with the Pro Router and it's Smart wireless mesh. As far as i could see Forum wise there is zero information in the Pro System logs to indicate that anything is wrong....

Just checked and I had a drop yesterday (19/3) at 0100 am. Have not been keeping an eye on it too much, it has been working without issues for a while now. Will pay more attention to it again now.

Morning @bigsteve47

Thanks for coming to the community.

If you get in touch with our broadband tech guides, they can get the connection looked into and see what may be causing the internet dropping at these times.

Leanne.

After experiencing daily CCTV dropouts and other unusual issues with my home automation, I decided to purchase another ASUS router—I’ve used them for years.

Since replacing the Pro router and running only the ASUS router with my Deco mesh, everything has been stable every day. The EE Pro router is now being returned, and the £10 monthly charge is being removed from my account.

We have a Smart Hub Plus and it drops out at 12.28pm and we think at 00:28 every day. It flashes orange for about 2 minutes.  We only just moved over to EE two weeks ago and this did not happen on the BT Hub. It was only when we changed over to the EE router that it started. Any idea for a fix? I work from home and frequently have meetings online so it is very inconvenient when it goes down.
