Cannot make calls on landline

I have just switched to an EE router from BT. I have a BT digital voice phone. I have linked it to the new hub and for one day it worked ok. Now I can receive incoming calls but cannot make calls. When I dial a number I get the ringtone then after a second the line goes dead. However my landline connects with the number I am trying to call but the person at the other end cannot hear me. I have reset my handset, but it has not solved the issue.

Any ideas?

@samgrievo : Does your landline announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC (no landline number)

No, the same thing happens as when I call a number - the ringtone for a second and then the line goes dead.
