Can I set up my router without having an engineer visit?

Hi there. My equipment has arrived, but the engineer isn’t coming out until Saturday, does anyone know if I can set up the equipment myself and cancel that appointment? My switch over date is on Saturday, does anyone know if I can move that date up? Thanks.

You may certainly config the settings of the router to your preferences while it is free-standing. Whether you can connect it to your current BB depends on what BB  you have there now, what BB you are going to & which router.
