What speeds are reported by running the speed test in the EE app? That will not only measure the raw BB connection speeds you are getting at the router as well as speeds to the device from which you are testing.

@SC1958 Are you sure it's live, most sport's are delayed transmission in TV packages. Turn the live scores off on whatever app you are using and enjoy the TV transmission instead.

no guarantee that EEtv is accurate the only way a much is guaranteed to be live and not ms behind is if you are at the event even "live"  tv sports events through a dish

You need to say how you are watching, e.g. through the EETV box, the HBO MAX app, etc,

However, all are streaming, and all will have a delay of some sort by their very nature. It can vary by channel - e.g. often TNT Sport Ultimate is behind TNT Sport. It is very unlikely to be your internet speed, but is the nature of the technology.

The reason why the method of watching is helpful to know is that if watching through an EETV box the channels on the programme guide are supplied over multicast which can reduce the delay. Watching via an app doesn't have that. 2 minutes seems at the longer end of the likely delays though. As others have said, just silence the alerts on your phone.

Just looking at Sky News [as it has a clock] on my Apple TV box, via the EETV app it is about 25 seconds delayed, nearly 35 seconds on the NowTV app. These will vary, but are as expected.
