I’m assuming that you were already with old EE broadband and I think they have re-contracted you on old EE rather than on new EE. The new EE packages are “Fibre 50 Essentials” or “Fibre 67 Essentials”. So I assume you will stay on the analogue phone line. But as  I stated previously Openreach put a stop sell on PTSN line in September 2023 and generally new contracts would be on digital voice. @XRaySpeX can you please confirm?

OR have put a stop on new PTSN lines but this with be an existing analogue landline on a regraded Fibre+ BB plan.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

@XRaySpeX  Thanks. I find this odd as the new contract will be for 24 months which will end AprIl 2026, which is after the proposed end of the PSTN network in December 2025. As digital voice only works on the new EE broadband then everyone on the old broadband will have to be moved to the new broadband. So why not do it as customers contracts are renewed rather than at some time in the future and before the end of 2025.

At the mo' but by end '25 EE has to do something for legacy BB users to meet their obligation of providing a voice service. Whether this is by moving them to New EE BB or by converting their existing analogue landlines to Digital Home Phone it is too early for us to guess.

Agrre with XRaySpeX, since EE has offered me this new 2 year deal it's up to them them to find a solution when the analouge system is switched off in my area.

Most probably it will be conversion for the last part of the contract to digital voice at no more cost.

Lady did say they would send me a new modem/router, I believe that this has a green phone socket connection on the back.

FTTP is availvable soon, June 2024

Wonder what will happen to the landline thereafter and the new contract?

What do you mean by landline?

  1. If the existing copper cables - They will be left in place but not in use
  2. If your telephone - It will be changed to Digital voice.

Your contract will be a new 24 month.

  • Another question I would like to ask is can I get digital voice to work with my current Asus router, TufAX6000?
  • Or do I have to use the EE router?
