Being bought out from Virgin

Hi,

We have been recently bought out by EE from Virgin after they visited us and offered to buy us out after installing fibre in out street. They said EE will cover the buy out costs so we don't need to worry about that. Virgin is sending emails each day now to pay the exit fee around £500, anything I'd need to do or just ignore them? The representatives said don't worry about Virgin as they cannot do anything as EE will cover it, but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks,

Gergo

Thanks, but this isn't what we were told by the representatives in person, as they said EE will cover the full cost. I'll raise with the switch team. Thanks.

@Virusgeri   you need to pay the VM bill, and claim the vredit back buy submitting the statement to EE. However the offer is for up to £300.

Edit @Chris_B  beat me to it.

Switching Credit | Broadband Help | EE

Switch to EE and we'll pay your leaving fee

We’ve made your switch to EE as easy as possible. If you have fees for leaving your old provider we’ll credit you back up to £300 to help with the cost.

How to claim the EE Switch Offer

Once you've ordered and activated EE Broadband, email the final bill from your old supplier to switch-team@ee.co.uk, along with your EE order number.

For your claim to be successful, your final bill should clearly show the itemised leaving fees.

Once we’ve received your bill and validated the leaving fees, we'll apply this to your next EE bill. You’ll get an email to let you know if your claim has been successful.

Offer terms

If you choose to switch your broadband, calls and line rental from another UK consumer broadband provider to EE, you'll be able to claim up to £300 towards the early termination charges you may pay to your provider for ending your agreement early, credited to your EE account. The offer applies to Consumer Broadband, TV package and Home phone termination charges only, it excludes other termination charges. This offer is by invitation only to new EE Broadband customers signing up to any EE Broadband or EE Broadband and TV.

The amount of the termination charges will be credited to your EE account within 28 days of us receiving your bill with the early termination charges. Excludes call and any excess data charges on the final bill. You must email your bill to switch-team@ee.co.uk within a period of 4 months of your EE broadband being activated to be eligible to receive your account credit. Offer excludes BT Group employees. Offer excludes termination charges from BT Group (BT, EE and Plusnet) products. There is no cash alternative to this offer. Other exclusions and conditions may apply.

No credits will be applied in the first 14 days after your service starts. Customers who cancel their EE Broadband within 14 days of their service starting, or who do not provide their final bill within two months of their service being activated, will not be eligible for this offer.

Thank you for the response, however, we were told by the representatives that the full cost will be covered after by EE as it is part of a promotion after becoming present in the area. I'll raise with the Switch team.

@Virusgeri   alas they are not on this forum, all we can do is show what we have. Did they give you any paperwork?

I can't see how EE would know about your VM account details, never mind how to pay your bills.

@Virusgeri : EE will pay up to £300 of your Early Cancellation Fees upon sight of your previous ISP's bill showing them. You can claim this online @ Switch Broadband to EE and we'll pay your leaving fee.

We can only tell you what EE's corporate procedures are. If they are at variance with what you were told by some door-steppers, you'll just have to take it up with them.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@Virusgeri Good luck with it all, do let the Forum know how you get on with it all if you do not mind!👍

Would also just pay the VM bill at the £500 they are claiming for your exit fee final bill, as that get's the pony off your back unless you want to wait see what the outcome off the whole situation is.
