Being Offline Until Delivery Help

Hi there.

In the last hour or so I have joined EE as a new customer. I am nearing the end of my BT contract come Feb 28th as my final bill date. But unfortunately when trying to get a date for delivery for my new EE equipment, the earliest I could pick was 9th March. Thats is way too late. And I don’t know what to do. I dont want an extra BT bill after my contract ends, and if I did cancel my BT on 28th after final bill, me and my family will be offline for over a week. This is something I can’t obviously do. Could EE possibly fast forward delivery and activation dates? Or what else can I do here?

Thank you in advance 🙂

@Madders2020 : You don't cancel BT BB at all! I think you misunderstand 2 things, how these min. term contracts work & how migrations of BB between ISPs using the One Touch Switch (OTS) process work.

  1. These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade.
  2. When you migrate your BB to another ISP you apply to them directly & they'll take care of everything bar your final old ISP's bill. This will auto cancel your contract with your old ISP.

Accordingly as you've already applied to EE, EE will migrate your BB from BT on the date they've allocated (9 Mar.). On that date your BT contract & BB will cease You'll only have to pay BT for the period 28 Feb to 9 Mar. which is quite likely that you've already paid for as you pay BB bills 1 month in advance. You might even get a rebate.

@Madders2020  If that’s the earliest date you could choose then that’s the earliest date that’s available.  There are other customers who have dates before yours and you’re asking to be placed before them.  Would you want to be chosen to have a later date because someone wanted an earlier date.   Because that’s what’s you’re asking

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Sorry but you've caused the issue by cancelling with BT, should have left it & done the takeover

I haven’t cancelled BT yet what you mean? If worst case delivery can’t come sooner then thats fine mate ill keep BT active until 9th

Yeah okay mate relax I was only asking to see if it was possible. If it can’t happen it can’t happen. I probably wont be offline if this isn’t possible anyway Ive not cancelled BT yet.

I think i read the OP wring sorry. In any case the 9th wull be the earliest date & the BT broadband will close automatically then too

No worries mate. So do you think thats the way forward? Just keep BT going until EE activates and then cancel BT on 9th (if not done automatically)?

@Madders2020 Did EE agree to take you on as a new customer, that is the surprising part off it all coming from BT to EE?

Yes. I am no longer a BT customer anyway.

@Madders2020 Sorry but is your opening post all wrong then?
