BT broadband to EE 1.6gbps

What a pain it has been to switch over to EE to get new router and faster speeds. Initially I was told they can order the 1.6gbps broadband from EE as I had by complete WiFi and i agreed only then after the phone call ended I noticed they simply transferred over like for like package on EE and found I then had to pay more not much but still £1 more. I was later told to let my order complete and I can then regrade and get the 1.6gb fibre from EE. I then checked on EE and it was still showing as I have the 900mb package. A few days passed, however  to my surprise it now shows I can get rhe 1.6 gbps package from EE. So when I called again to day I was told I can’t get it even though I am on full fibre fttp as the people on the phone said they can’t see the offer so can’t provide this to me  so firstly I was misled and missold what I was ordering then now their site doesn’t match it states I can get which is mis advertising. I have spent a number hours on the phone.

I've come to the conclusion it's my router that's at fault.😱

PPPoE connection tonight.

It’s the EE diagnostics tool, they send you a home report when you raise a complaint about your broadband speed or network.

Thanks, @garetc ! It looks more professional than anything else from EE 😉 .

My issue is back and I’m on 136Mbps down.

EE have done some tests and concluded that there’s a fault on my connection and I need an OR engineer to come out 🤪

Even if I regrade to 900Mbps there’s no guarantee that I won’t have the issue on that connection.

@Letmeb00gey1

As @garetc kindly explains it's the EE diagnostics tool which Adam (EE Gentleman from HQ) sent me.

This is what prompted me to try a PPPoE connection last night which does confirm the 1.6 is getting to my ONT.

Results staggered me.😱

PS: I showed Adam this very thread (Hi Adam if you are reading this) and he concluded he could learn more about the troubles / problems users are having with this premium bundle.

I think that it’s also used decide if they’ll send you a WiFi booster if you have whole home WiFi (or whatever EE have rebadged it to).

They look at the signal that you’re receiving on all the devices and then make a decision if you need one based on things having connection or signal strength issues.

@Bluenose_Dave

Morning Dave, actually at work and away from home right now but had another call from Adam yesterday which really pleased me (hi Adam and thank you) so I’m 100% sure he is keen to gather information in order to establish just how this premium package works and what is exactly needed. Again fingers crossed for you mate and I’m now positive we are all learning from this experience moving on to even faster broadband speeds. At Heathrow now but home later today for some more testing.😁
