Having been on the new 1.6gb/s service now for 2 weeks, and here are my views,
i have the EE new smart router plus and 3 extenders, first off i know the EE smart hub plus only has 1gb LAN ports, speeds have been ok and stable WIFI rangers from about 650-820 what is not bad, i m running with them hardwired with a lan to them, i know WiFi 6 max speeds are 1200 but rarely get them in the real world
this package feels like it been rushed out, my reason for saying this are, openreach engineers laptops have 1gb Ethernet ports so they are unable to check speeds from ONT or any other Speedtest at your home if you are on the 1.6gbs package
the EE router having only 1gb LAN, also it comes with a cat 5e cable, this cat of cable does up to 1gb, so if you are on 1.6gb/s you will need to get a new Ethernet lead to connected the smart hub plus to the ONT
all the WiFi features like work and game mode and WiFi controls dont work, it say page not found, i have heard that the WiFi enhanced feature has been turn off so the team can look at it and fix it as it affecting a lot of users and should be back after a month, i am unable to check speed via the router page this time it asking for me to make an EE account
speeds and connection has been stable and good, but i did have a lot of issues getting the service
i know of people who have bought a 3rd party router so they can get full access to the raw 1.6gbs speeds, and they are having no issues on speeds as router has 2.5gb LAN on them unlike the EE smart hub plus
i have bought a usbc to 2.5gb Ethernet adapter so i can test the raw speeds at the ONT, plus if openreach do need to test speeds at my home they will be able too
so in short i hope you can see why i think this package has been rushed out from the fact openreach dont have the kit to test speeds at the customer home, to all the issues with the new smart hub plus

Lucky devil. I had 3 different chats yesterday
All three promises that it was reordered and would arrive today. On the 3rd time I did it about 9.30pm as I'd still not recieved a order notification or tracking details, and wanted to confirm all was still good. He said yes definitely be there tomorrow...
we ll today came and nothing. Ended up ringing next gen team when I had the chance and he was brilliant could see I've had the dispatched email, but explained unless you get a tracking number via text or email then don't take for granted it coming as mistakes are still happening. All so mentioned that the online chat should of never promised anything as its only the next gen team who can process these type of orders for current customers.
With that explanation i couldnt fault him, really easy to talk to and get along with and just goes to show how much rubbish they will spout out just to get you off the line and just flat out lies to my face.
Safe to say ill be moving on when my contracts up, just 19 more months to wait!!

If you use the EE app go to manage and orders, and check broadband orders I found my WiFi repeater order there a day before I got the text, not saying you find the order there but you might do

I'm certainly tempted to try it Dave but honestly.... I don't think it will outperform my BE19000 for a minute, so I shall probably leave it as a spare for now.

For those that have moved from the Hub Plus to the new Hub Pro, is there a way to retain your settings, more specifically I have over 30 connected devices all named and grouped.
Can these be kept or do I have to start again?

It does give an option in the setup to transfer devices, I did not have to setup my rooms again when I set up my pro router, I hope this helps

I come across a strange issue with repeaters, I have them both backhauled to the router, and then from repeater to a netgear 5 port switch they are only 1gb ones,so I expected to get speeds around 900 , but to my surprise speeds much lover300 ish
i test speed via repeater getting the full 1.6gb speed, i have swapped leads even used a different network switch still only a 1gb and it still the same. Checking on the other repeater and same results, anyone have any ideas or thoughts on this issue as i am stumped

@Bluenose_Dave Have you tried backhaul cable to the switch, uplink on switch to the Extender, and then testing, may not like the 2.5 / 1 switching arrangement, that way everything will be switched down to the 1Gb/s per the switch and may reflect in the speed test.
