1.6GB Busiest Home Bundle only available for new subscribers!!

I have just been on the phone requesting an upgrade from my existing 900mb connection to the new 1.6GB and Wifi7.

I was surprised to be told that the new service is only available to new subscribers and it is not possible to upgrade.

Is this the way of progress? I am totally baffled as to why I am locked into the slower service. Can anyone shed a light as to why this is so?

@GosforthUK So you know, the cancellation fee from BT - EE is not an automatic waiver, and more so if you have a long time to go with a BT contract as that ISP, there are rules and regulations, and terms and conditions that are stated.

@JimM11 I might check it better, but out of memory:

- over 12 months left on my BT BB FF900

- approx 18 month left  on my EE TV

- no contract on my mobe SIMO

at a moment I was moving from BT to EE and got transferred WITHOUT any penalty or early termination fee(s) with no problem at all.

Not even need to fight about it, offered as part of move

Just wished I'd stayed with BT”

Don’t we all.

It’d happen anyway, but I was told by someone in Exec Office Complaints that if *they* initiate the move, it’s more seamless than if *we* do it.

Ah, well.

Exactly, if I’d known what a headache it was going to be.
