panic alarm

.  I have an aged mother and we are trying to keep her in her own home as long as possible, but she is getting increasingly frail and would like to get her a ‘panic button’ which has a sim card in so she can alert us if she falls.  The problem I am having is finding a sim that doesn’t charge me £10 a month for something that we hope is never used or that expires if I don’t take it out of the alarm and make a call every three or six months (which I may forget to do in time).

So what I’m asking is, do you have or could you programme a sim that doesn’t expire and doesn’t require topping up all the time?

I’m sure I can’t be the only person looking for a product like this, maybe there is a small market for this type of product that would earn a lot of customer recommendation and loyalty

You can get a PAYG SIM that doesn't require topping up each month but it will need to make a call or text within every 6 months to keep it alive.

@moorcock , try www.wellbeing.org.uk, she should be able to have a system installed in her home. There are others like age uk, who can supply them too. The monthly cost with a SIM card is not expensive either, they will sort this out for her. Hope this helps.
