iPhone 12 and 12 Pro preorder thread

Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!

 

Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.

 

Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.

 

What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

@TheGavnor I’ve been told multiple things too. 
the only thing I do know is there is a delay with logistics and it’s a first come first serve situation at the moment,

not everyone will receive their preorder tomorrow - most will be delivered Monday onwards.

@sleepy multiple members of EE staff! I’ve spoken too.

 

basically they’re being overwhelmed with how popular they have been (unexpected it seems) which has caused a delay🤷🏻‍♂️

Just spoke to them and they honestly dont have a clue.

 

How anyone can say that they already have DPD info doesn't make sense from what I've just been told.

 

They don't have any handsets currently. Its all being dealt with tomorrow, first come first served.

 

EE comms is awful eh! You'd think they would at least manage expectations with an email or Text now considering what we pay!

Then I would take it with a massive pinch of salt!

 

Left hand just doesn't talk to right hand. It's the same duff info they spin every time.  Any issues are caused by them not processing orders properly it seems. Anything else is just smoke and mirrors.

@lred Whilst I agree mostly with what you’ve said.

 

some people are relying on the DPD app & if they get a notification that the device has been picked up, most cases they’re fine.

but if you haven’t received a notification from DPD by early tomorrow - no chance you’ll get it tomorrow.

Seems that nobody at EE knows what's happening, I think I remember when I got my last iPhone on preorder I got the DPD Dispatch message at 2 in the morning or something daft 🥴

@vadoseflame Very glad they are using DPD then.

 

Out of all the delivery companies their app is beyond compare. Especially with correct email registration.

 

As you have said, EE customer services know nothing, its as picked and passed to DPD roulette!

 

I tried to order on Friday but EE systems went down. Was called back and order through on Monday and was lead to believe for release day delivery. I fear Pacific Blue 128GB is the most popular so an unknown wait beckons for me.

But as always the case they don’t really know what’s going on and can only hope it’ll be release day for everyone. But due to the popularity of both devices, seems this may be delayed to Monday as for most.

 

I believe pacific blue is the most popular colour for the Pro variant, I went for the 512Gb version so fingers crossed🤞🏻
