iPhone 12 Pro 256GB Gold - when will my grossly late device arrive?

I ordered the device on a two year contract on the 27th November and was advised over the phone that I would be in possession of the device within a week. This never happened and since then the estimated date period of delivery has changed twice being pushed further and further back first 17-21st December then 22nd-24th December and now today (22nd December) the update page has reverted back to awaiting confirmation. The day before (21st December) I called EE over the phone to complain and provide some clarification and information and they were entirely unhelpful and by the end of the conversation I was no further ahead in any way and learned nothing new than I was before I made the call. For the inconvenience of the delay I was offered a £30 reduction from my next monthly bill which comes no where close to the inconvenience caused and even then the operator was reluctant to even award that Scrooge like offering. I’m currently borrowing a friends old phone to use until the new phone arrives. That was the plan but my friend needs it back on the 26th December (it’s Tuesday now and they want it back on Saturday) to go on vacation. This, if the new iPhone doesn’t arrive will put me into a seriously bad situation. With a very sick family member and three other badly affected COVID family members I’m supporting during their isolation I cannot go without a phone. In addition without a phone or device how am I meant to know when the delivery date will be and be at home to take delivery of it? I’ve explained this to EE and they weren’t helpful at all. I’m now stressing out badly and really don’t need this added pressure right now. I think I’ve exhausted all avenues - this blog post is my last ditch attempt to resolve the seriously late and quite frankly atrocious delivery timing. Can anyone provide me with any information? After this, I will probably not take out a second contract with EE again as this is beyond reasonably “late” delivery timing. As the biggest provider of iPhones in Europe (as boasted to me by the EE phone operator) they should have been prepared for the eventuality of a sell out (and even this years super cycle) and had reserve stock in place (which if not sold they sell over the course of a year or two and just not order new stock). The release of an iPhone is no big secret - we all know it happens every Autumn/Fall so they should have been prepared. I don’t really care if they’re having procurement issues; they should not be making their companies problem mine too. My time of patience and understanding is now over and now I’m just frustrated, angry and seriously worried for my family from Boxing Day onwards. I want to know when I’m going to get the phone I’ve ordered. I don’t think this is an unreasonable request. Can anyone help?

I ordered on 17th November and mine is arriving today, try downloading the dpd app use the same number and email address as the ee account and dpd will link your deliveries with your details, mine has reverted back to awaiting confirmation now as mine is arriving today so maybe it’s the same for yours:)

I ordered on the 20th Nov and have just had a notification to say it's now not coming until 4th - 9th Jan! Disappointed to say the least..
