Hello. I'm out of contract. I didn't upgrade. I bought a phone through another website with an EE contract. I received a phone call and a new number. And I want to keep my old phone number. To this end, I called to your company. I have received information that you will change my old number to pay as you go. After a week, I had to call again to confirm chewing the old phone number to the new one. I called again (after a week of waiting) and it turned out that nobody helped me. No pay as you go service was introduced, and the whole procedure started again.
once again your service assured me that my old number will be put on pay as you go, and later the old number will be transferred to the new contract. I was to receive a text message. Once again I received nothing. I have two contracts and can call from both phones. And I want to have a new contract but I want to keep my old phone number. Why can't anyone solve this problem? and I have been waiting for 3 weeks. I won't pay for two contracts because I don't need it. I am asking for help in solving the problem.

Hi @Katnik
What's important is whether the new phone you've bought, is a "new connection with new number", or an "upgrade".
If it's a new connection, then it will come with a new number and EE will not port your existing number across to it. You'll need to cancel that new number, and re-order the phone as an upgrade.
If it's an upgrade, then keeping your phone number is the whole purpose of an upgrade so yes, you will keep your existing number.
The only other way to have your "new contract" with your existing number is to either move it to an EE PAYG or to another network. And then to move it back in again.

Hi @Katnik
Thanks for coming to the community.
Is your old number on pay monthly, as mentioned in your other post?
If so, please give us a call on 150 and our Mobile Care team can help you transfer your number to pay as you go 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.

@Katnik From your old phone text PAC to 65075 you’ll get the code via text you then need to give that code to a different network to move it to a PAYG sim on that network so you’ll need a sim fir that network on PAYG. Once your number is on that network you need to request your pac code from that network to give back to EE do it can then move your number to your new account.
or you can call EE customer services to give 30 days notice to terminate your current contract and request your old sim to be changed to a PAYG sim you can then request that this be moved to your new account.
You have to give 30 days notice to terminate your old contract and I think you’ll find this is why your old number is not yet on PAYG.

EE won't port nos between contracts. So you need to 1st port your existing no to another network's PAYG using a PAC from EE & then in reverse port it back to your new contract. This will also have the effect of cancelling your old contract.
You could alternatively "upgrade" your old contract to PAYG & then ask EE to transfer the no to your new contract.

@Katnik What you're asking for is something that EE won't officially do. You have bought a new phone which comes with a new number.
@XRaySpeX & @Chris_B have advised you of the "unofficial" method to do this. You need to either do what they've advised, you, or there are two other methods:
1: Assuming you bought your new phone online or by phone, contact the seller and advise them you want to cancel it under the 14day return policy. Then buy your chosen phone as an upgrade.
2: Keep your new phone and new number, and give 30days notice to disconnect your existing number.
