Have had windows all the time I've had a puter which is quite a while but find Microsoft are becoming quite dominant and virtually taking control. Is Mac any better and would the photos I.ve stored on memories work on there or has M. tied that up as well.

I'm not too familiar with Apple Macs, @Mickarchie.

If I remember correctly, you have one don't you, @Schockwave? Are you able to help with this question? 🙂

How do you find MS has become quite dominant? I find Windows fine. I can still get all sorts of programs, applications & utilities for it from outside MS.

Photos should be stored in an industry-standard format, e.g. .JPEG, .GIF, .TIF, .PNG, for which there should be a reader on any OS: Win, Mac, mobile.

Blocked DVD player i have to load a prog i,e, VLC  to play a DVD but then have to remove it because it becomes dominant and tries to take over. Windows say they will sell me one. Have messed with Windows Media player. All I can do is load long lists of music, can no longer put it into Artist, Album  & Genre. Wont let me load my dated printer properly or contact Epson  to register,( they say Epson is not available even though I can get to  it myself.) Other items are not to mind at the mo but will pop up as I go along.

@Mickarchie , I have spoken to my brother, who is more knowledgeable than me, and he said that if you have One Drive or Dropbox, make sure they are on there, or if you have a storage, you can load them on there and transfer them that way. Hope this helps.

Apple Mac is on the whole much better than Windows for security and safety, but Windows is better if playing games, depending on the type of game you are playing.

Apparently there is a lot of hacking going on Windows.

Have tried loading from external memory but still can't get the music into the right places on W.M.P. Have even tried reloading a player from C.Net but Windows block it. Once upon a time you could set a certain App to run on an earlier version of Windows, that doesn't seem to be available anymore, unless  somebody  know different

At last, beat Windows with Windows Media Player. Went around the houses and got my music into the files I wanted. Also got past them when they tried to stop me using my printer. That and a Pompey win today, excellent weekend. Just want England to win rugby and that will be perfick.
