Hi,
I have been trying to activate the Wifi calling on my Samsung S7 but the light blue colour remains unchanged (doesn't go grey or dark blue). I have been offered this phone as a gift and was bought in France several years ago (not sure if this is a problem).
It looks like wifi calling is already part of my EE extras.
I was wondering what could I do to be able to activate it?

Hi @Oceane66
I suspect this is not going to work.
Many years ago, Android phones had to be bought from the network directly (or run network-firmware) in order to work with certain extras - which included WiFi-calling.
That rule/theory has been loosened-somewhat in recent years and is now largely untrue. However, if this phone was bought abroad "several years ago", the chances of it working in the UK are potentially quite low. If the menu option is present and is correctly set, there is little more you can do.
Bear in mind only pay-monthly customers can use WiFi-calling.

This is the correct answer @bristolian
OP will need to flash the EE UK firmware to the phone assuming the model number matches, he can look at XDA for the software to do so (ODIN) and Samfirmware for the firmware download
though this doesn’t trip KNOX as it is official firmware, it is fairly advanced - this shouldn't invalidate your manufacturer warranty as it is official firmware HOWEVER proceed at your own risk

Indeed so - but bearing in mind this is the EE community, the OP is not likely to get any assistance on here with how to do this, and the process is done entirely at their own risk.

Flashing BTU or EVR (EE) firmware is fairly easy.
I get my firmware from sammobile.com
But I never tell people how to do it myself because one wrong step they can brick the phone.
And I or EE will not take any responsibility for this.
Sammobile does tell you how to do it.

You're correct @BrendonH this can easily brick your phone if the cable were to fail half way through the flash - or the power were to go out - I, nor EE/Sammobile take responsibility for a bricked device - proceed with caution

Thank you all for your feedback.
Sad times then for me with no signals where I just moved in 😕

FWIW I have a Galaxy S7 Active which I bought refurbished unlocked from a UK trader. It was originally from the USA (it had lot of AT & T stuff on it). Wifi calling is dead on my device too, not that I currently need it. Great phone otherwise.
