Why can't I reply to a text message from a friend?

Hi,

 

I am currently abroad on lockdown but can use my UK mobile to send and receive messages. This always works with the exception of one UK number. I can receive texts from this friend's number without a problem but when I try and send a message back it doesn't get delivered. Any ideas please?!

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi there, I have tried calling and it says please check the number. 

It seems odd that I received the text with the number given though. 

Not sure what to do now!

Do you have the number saved in your phone contacts?

 

Can you text or call the number from another phone?
