Why on earth are EE upgrades so expensive?? I have been with EE for at least 4 years maybe more (can’t remember) and yet when the opportunity comes to upgrade ALL the options are sooo expensive. What I would like to see is a list of excellent deals that are on par with or better than alternative networks. That way I’ll just upgrade online with EE no messing around. Instead I feel I have to waste time shopping around or bartering with EE! So I have been “recommended” to go from an iPhone 11 with 30gb £35pm to an iPhone 12 with 30gb per month but at a cost of £60 pm!!! Madness! I want to pay less in pm in an ideal world but would be happy to pay the same £35 pm or even a little more at worst considering it’s a newer iPhone. I can get 100gb pm iPhone 12 at £38 pm from three or there are various other networks offering much better deals than EE. I just find it all a bit tedious. Surely I should just qualify for the best deals since I’m a current customer?

@Trc21 That’s recommended not that you have that iPhone 11 at £35.
and the iPhone 12 deal is £1440 over two years, now take the cost of the device off ( this is the base model iPhone 12 ) £699 now that tariff price is £741 over 2 years.

Sorry? I’m confused? What I am saying is that the majority of other major networks will offer me the same deal that EE have BUT at nearly half the cost per month. Some require a nominal up front payment of £30 but other than that everything is the same. I don’t care how much the phone costs. EE and other networks are supplied the phones at a discounted rate so the retail value is irrelevant. I am disappointed that EE AGAIN have failed to check the market competition and have offered my a shockingly bad deal on upgrade. I am fed up of having to call them to barter a deal. As an existing customer just offer me the best or at least a competitive deal in the first place. I’ll just hit the button and upgrade if that was the case. Now I am shopping around and wasting my time to potentially end up back with EE through a deal they pitch me or a third party provider. It’s just silly. Who would pay £65 pm for a 64gb iPhone 12? It’s ridiculous. Every other provider offers it for around £35-40 pm for the same thing.

EE have never claimed to be the cheapest provider, and if cost is a primary consideration, you will almost certainly find lower-priced offers on other operators.
Get a price in mind as to what you're willing to pay, and see what EE will offer you if you call directly.

I appreciate that. What vexed me is that I have to do the leg work. I’ve stuck with them for the years gone by because they do reduce the price to something competitive BUT only when I call them and beat out a deal. It’s just a waste of my time and theirs. As a long standing customer it would surely be easy for them to simply pitch me a decent competitive deal for upgrade? I’ll most likely as will any one just click the button and order a new phone and contract. Why in this day and age do I need to phone a human and negotiate for a deal? They know what’s out there on offer from other providers and if they don’t then that’s pretty poor business. EE, do what you like with contract pricing but please don’t rip your loyal customers off. Like I said, just show me a decent deal and I’ll simply carry on with EE. Would be so much easier and less likely to lose customers.
