I’ve had my iPhone on a Contract from EE for two years, which ended on 20th September. I’ve since ported my number over to my new provider. I’m awaiting my new phone, but was planning to use my new SIM in my current phone until it arrived. I realised my phone was locked to EE. Apparently unlocking is a very simple process, unless EE has now closed your account. How can I unlock my device?

@AbbyCarr98 On your phone can you go to Settings>General>About and scroll down to Network Provider Lock. If it says no sim restrictions then the device is already unlocked. And it should be as EE will unlock an iPhone after 17 months of ownership with any requests from yourself.

Hi, thank you for your response. I can confirm my iPhone is still SIM Locked, despite my 24 month contracting ending. I have now managed to raise this with the resolutions department. They’re not sure why it wasn’t unlocked already; and also passed on regarding my closed account

Where did you yourself get this device itself originally? Did you buy it yourself new direct from EE or from a 3rd-party reseller or is it 2nd-hand? The unlocking process & costs are different.
