Hi
I am trying to unlock my old work phone for my daughter to use. Originally bought from EE, but when I try to do so, because it doesn't recognise the number anymore, I can't get through to customer service. I have read somewhere there is a form I can fill in, but none of the links to that seem to work.... Help ! : )
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

It makes no diff. It's how it was bought from EE originally that determines the unlock path.
You could regard it as a 2nd-hand device in your hands & try using the 2nd-hand method for unlocking it.
To unlock a 2nd-hand phone you need to call Customer Services on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2, option 4) to put you in touch with the Unlocking Team to request an Unlock Code. You will be asked for your email addy. They will take payment (of £8.99) from any valid UK bank card.
Once the process has been started you will receive an email from the Unlocking Team to process the unlock. It can take up to 10 days to complete the unlock.

Your work phone? You mean it was originally bought from EE not by yourself but by a firm? If so you can't get it unlocked yourself; only the a/c holder within the firm can do so.

It was my work phone, but when I left their employment, it was signed over to me and I paid the bill, so was in my name - sorry I didn't make that very clear.

Oh I see.however, I have tried calling using the options you've mentioned already. Because it doesn't recognise my number, it doesn't give me any other options : /

Calling Customer Services on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2, option 4) should not ask for a mobile no.
