Today Outlook is reporting -Your server does not support the encryption type-

Emails were being received and sent as usual yesterday, but today I get the error "Your server does not support the encryption type you have specified." No settings have been changed in the email account.  I have seen similar posts with no resolution, but hoping that someone can shed some light on this.

Hi @rtyn ,

Does your employer support that email server or is it supported by a third party such as Microsoft?

It's highly unlikely EE has any control over your email server or the configuration of your email client.

I've found Outlook to be fine all day on 4G LTE but it's not much of EE's concern at all.

I would recommend to raise the issue with whoever supports your email service or servers. Good luck!

Who is your email provider? What have you put as the Incoming Server settings (all of them) in your eMail client, obscuring your name?

Thank you for your response.  The FAQs on the email providers website suggested that this was down to the way the ISP (EE) was handling the encryption. Hence the post here.  Anyway shortly after I posted here it all started working again, so I guess something was changed back to the way it was.

Glad to hear this is working again for you @rtyn

Come back to the community anytime 🙂

Leanne.

EE does not interfere in the encryption of email data. That is solely handled by your email provider's servers & your email client between them. Hence I wanted to check the servers, ports & encryption types you have set in your email client.
