I need to buy a new sim for my UK phone as I lost my last phone in the sea (don't ask!) Can I activate the new SIM here in Canada and Buy a SIM that's compatible with EE?

@CHARLESJARMAN No that’s not possible as you would need a replacement SIM card not a new SIM card.

@CHARLESJARMAN A replacement SIM card will be sent to the billing address and it will need to be activated in the UK before someone at that address can post it to you.

OK understood but being activated can be done in a shop? I assume and on any phone? I won't be physically back in the UK until the restrictions are lifted possibly Oct/ Nov if I'm lucky! I could arrange to have a lodger take the card to the store and have it activated in house before posting it to me here!

Can't you get a Canadian SIM card, eh?

My phone was dual sim. I want to keep my UK no. and account with EE on the same handset as my Canadian.

The QR code on the replacement eSIM would have to be scanned into the device to register it.

Thanks I'm just going to get a normal replacement SIM card sent from the UK once it's been activated 🙂
