The main things which will disappear are contacts and messages which were stored on the SIM. Anything which depends on your old SIM or old number (e.g. WhatsApp) may need adjusting until your number is ported to the new SIM.

To test out what might change on your phone, simply remove the SIM, turn it on, and check the functionality (this is the functionality that will be unchanged by a new SIM). The mobile phone should have most functionality (including WiFi) without a SIM card minus calls, text messages, and cellular data. 😃

Edit: before you move to a new vendor, ensure you unlock your phone from the old vendor or you may end up with a useless device.

Just the plan you are on if you do it as an upgrade from your current contract. You keep your existing SIM, including your no. & SIM contacts, if any, as it's only a plan change.

Hi @dylanbella23

What are you changing to a SIM-only plan from?

You've not said, but I presume you're changing to SIM-only from another pay-monthly plan - in which case this is just a change of payment plan.

Nothing more and nothing less.

Hi yes keeping my phone just going on to sim only thanks for your help

Hi @dylanbella23

Thanks for coming to the community 🙂

I can see you have had some great advice already, nothing will change apart from your plan and any benefits of your current plan. You will keep the number and SIM card.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Leanne 🙂
