Sim Only Cancellation

How far into a sim only deal do you have the right to terminate?
My sim only deal has just renewed in August but has been renewed to a 24month for some reason.

However,  my work have now given me a phone to move over to with a new provider.

What are my cancellation options?

You may always cancel but it is only free after you've seen out the min. term.

Do you know if I am able to move form a sim only plan to a flex plan?

The same applies. You'll need to cancel your contract to move to Flex.

Actually these mobile contracts don't just either renew nor end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly cancel or upgrade. So you must have upgraded to a new contract of presumably a longer term.

Hi @ChloeRich

If you have re-entered a 24month minimum term in August just gone, then your minimum term runs until August 2023. EE mobile contracts - in common with the rest of the industry - aren't fixed-term but ongoing ones with minimum terms.

Early termination penalties would apply if you cancelled or ported out anytime before then.

2023 you mean?

Thank you, that's very helpful information.

As per the termination charges. Are the charges calculated for the full 24m or up until the minimum term?

Up to the end of min. term pro-rata on a per-diem basis. They will basically be months left x monthly charge - 20%.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance

Thanks @XRaySpeX  - good spot, and I've corrected my original post.

For the benefit of the OP - there's a guide to calculating early termination charges at this EE help page
