Hey All!
My sister moved back home (India) last year. When leaving, she deactivated her EE account which of course made her sim-invalid. While cleaning the attic today, I discovered the 4GEE mini device. I tried to insert a local nano sim but as expected it did not work, quite possible that the device is still locked. I wanted to know, is it possible to have the device unlocked? I am pretty sure it has surpassed the six months period.
Any help would be appreciated! Do not want a perfectly decent device to go waste and increase the unnecessary carbon footprint.
Thanks!

@Artistichead To request the unlock of this device yourself you’ll need to call customer services and request this, this will be a charge of £8.99 payable via a uk credit/debt card.

Thanks for the response @Chris_B ! Would they accept any other international debit cards? I no longer use a UK bank.

@Artistichead Ive only seen one other time a none UK card was accepted. ( I don’t know what that was though ). Your other option is to ask your sister to request this as the device was on her account so it will be free for her to have this unlocked, You will need to know the MBB number (SIM card phone number ) that was in the device though or you could ask her to call EE customer services to request this, obviously EE will ask a few questions to check that the device was on her account though.

That's quite alright, I think that is the next best option available! Thanks a ton, have a lovely evening! Stay safe.

She could just try applying using the Unlocking your device form and giving the mobile number that it originally came with.
