I have the exact same problem. Up until now we have three EE phones and all would get issued with VAT invoices for our accounts. This month none of them are being issued with VAT invoices, so what's changed? Surely EE have to provide their customers with VAT receipts so that those that are VAT registered can account for the VAT under the Mobile phone VAT rules.

There are no Mobile Phone VAT rules: there are only VAT rules.

You are wrong there, there are Mobile phone Vat rules, you can only claim for what is business related and not the full VAT.

Link to them!?
That goes for any business related expense, e.g. use of your private car on business.. It all the same statutory VAT rules.

@Billyboy33 : Those are the general statutory VAT rules I was alluding to earlier. They apply to all business related expenses. An example does not constitute a rule!

There are different rules that apply to all aspects of VAT. Not one rule for all business nor all purchases are claimable. When I posted about the rules that apply to Mobile Phone use I was referring to what you are allowed to claim under the Mobile Phone VAT rules. If you read the VAT Guide notice 700 it will explain more about claiming business expenses and within that mobile phones have their own rules.

Well I have just raised a complaint to EE about this. Surely if they are charging VAT they have to supply VAT invoices, I thought that was the legal way of doing things. I'm receiving VAT invoices from suppliers all day long every day and no one questions whether I am a business or not. When I set up my contract it was on the agreement I would receive monthly VAT invoices so in my opinion they have now breached that contract.

@Billyboy33 No they don’t have to separate the VAT on the consumer bill. Your contract that you agreed too doesn’t state anything about VAT be listed separately.
have a look yourself HERE.
you need a business tariff for VAT as your claiming back VAT and consumer tariffs pay VAT.

VAT invoices is what was agreed at the set up of the contract so now they have changed it without any notification to the consumer so now all of my accounts no longer have VAT invoices. Other mobile phone accounts that I hold all provide VAT invoices and EE did until a month ago. This now causes the consumer wasted time and phone calls trying to resolve something that they should have left well alone.
