Police holding phone in evidence

Nicolaw1986
Visitor

My phone/sim is being kept in police evidence and looks like it will be there a long time. As a pay monthly customer, not being able to use my phone, am I able to get another SIM card to use my contract until my old one is released back to me?

@Nicolaw1986   Not knowing why they have your sim in the first place you’ll need to ask if you can have it back or get a replacement before you request a replacement from EE.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Have you seen a solicitor about this? If you're hard up there may be a centre near you where you could see a solicitor free of charge - your local library or Citizens' Advice Bureau should be able to direct you to where to go. The police are likely to be so focused on their investigations that they won't give much thought to your inconvenience or how being without your phone might affect you financially. Start by asking the police to give it back. If they won't ask them why not and then make an appointment with whoever you've found as your solicitor.
