Hi,
I am on the £5 month package, and I spend much of my time in Portugal.
I make quite a few calls to the UK, and I've noticed recently, the rates have suddenly shot up. I thought phoning UK from the EU was the same as UK to UK calls. Or is that wishful thinking? Roughly 35p for minute or less.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

You are only charged for calls when you don't have a PAYG Pack with a call allowance or you've used it all up. Is that what happened?

The call rates for calling from anywhere in the EU to UK are exactly the same as they would if you were still in UK, 35p / min. These charges must be for something else. What does it say under your Recent Usage in your MyEE these extra charges are for?

OK. Didn't realise they were 35p/min.
Looking at my usage, I did make quite a few long calls to UK.
Is 35p/min quite expensive? Or have I been drinking too much Portuguese wine?

Yes, I checked and I used up all my call allowance.
Thanks
