Apologies if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything,
I have a spare EE sim with credit (not been topped up in ages) in a dual phone, my account tellls me I have 50mb in data, why is it that I can't connect to the internet to use this data, I have followed the instructions to install the APN , I have been advised if I top up again it should be fine but I have nearly £20 in credit I don't really want to top up again, also if I get this sorted, am I able to use my credit for the data per mb or do I need to buy a 'pack'
all info appreciated,
when I'm trying to find my way around this community is a Job in itself 😄

@Bjbjbjbj31 When did you last use this SIM card ?
The credit has to purchase a pack you can not just use it to pay for data when you need it. Ie like a phone call or text.

Thanks for the update Chris_B that's all i needed was for someone to tell me i need to buy a pack to use data, i don't know why when I've asked that question to EE no one seems to clarify,
Do i also need to have a pack to use the free 50mb i have on my account,
I use the sim rarely, but do use it to keep it active

When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

Hi @Bjbjbjbj31.
Thanks for coming to the community.
To be able to use data on your account please purchase a pack.
