If it's on PAYG, it sounds like it has gone into hibernation.

When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

Also to benefit from EE roaming facilities you may only spend at most 2 months in any 4 away from UK.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@cheryl1961   When was this sim last used ? If it’s been over 6 months then the sim is now deactivated and it’s bin fodder.  To keep a payg sim active you have to use it at

least once every 3 months,  if it’s not used for 3 months it’ll go into hibernation then get a further three months to call customer services to get it reactivated so you can then use it.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
