I've recently had a new phone contract samsung galaxy a71 I've connected my new phone to the WiFi and the signal is really poor or just cuts off but everything else in the house thats connected to WiFi works fine

Firstly, it's only fair to mention that the EE mobile network has nothing to do with the WiFi connection between your phone and your WiFi router.
Do you have problems with your phone connecting to any other WiFi router?
The Galaxy A71 is capable of using the 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz WiFi bands, is your router using one or the other of these? The 5Ghz band should generally be preferred in an ideal world, but it does have less wireless range than 2.4Ghz.
