It says my device is not secure which is an issue i'll have to deal with later.

My main issue is that it wants me to Log in to a work's email through what looks like the Hotmail login screen ..I thought i'd make a new email as there's no other option but it won't let me. The only option is signin with a email that I don't know what it could possibly be or ReSet my device. I have done reset twice. It goes through the set up with Knox whatever that is and takes me back to Hotmail.

It specifically states my device isn't secure and "can be monitored" so don't want to use my own email even if that would work as it just seems dodgey.

I missed getting someone at EE on the phone by 11minutes as it's Sat.

I already hate this tablet and want it in the bin.

If anyone knows what I could do to setup my tablet (securely would be a bonus) I'd be forever grateful.

I'll try starting it without the sim card in as maybe it's because it has an internet connection already. It came up 4g as soon as the top bar loaded with a decent signal too so guess that's a plus.

I've never seen a device setup like this it's so strange.

Hi @C07Anderson27

Is your tablet new from EE?

Thanks

Hiya! yeah, it's on a 24month contract with EE, as a second line . I just got it today and after waiting excitedly for it to charge up, I'm rather upset that I can't get past this rather odd initial setup stage

Sorry I will just add that I don't have an IT Administrator in my home, and I have no work email address. I only have my own personal emails.

I did try restarting without sim card or WiFi and it just says

" this tablet is protected by Knox Cloud Service. To continue setup, connect to a WiFi or mobile network"

Turned WiFi on at this point as I had no options just an ok button, and then it went through these screens..

"Updating Knox enrollment service... % "

"Set up your PHONE"

Tells me that my admin can monitor everything! on my device, and the device will be monitored by some app ..at this point I just want my tablet operational so I clicked continue.

It tells me I can keep all my WORK apps at my fingertips..

Then back to Outlook/Hotmail to log in to my "Work's" email.

There is no Home or recent App button, just a back button and the notification bar doesn't pull down either as I assume the tablet needs set up first.

I did create a new email, on my mobile, and tried to log in with that on tablet but I got a really odd 'failed to log you in' message from outlook saying something along the lines of i need my IT admin to add me to the matrix or the grid.. Think it was the domain or server or something.
I would have grabbed a screenshot But I can't do that yet, i'll try run through it again a take a photo of the login error as it might make sense to someone.

Have I bought into a 2 year contract for a business account's tablet?? Surely I'm not the only personal-use EE customer with this device.?
Someone must have been given some login details or special code to get through Knox's set up process.

Just to say, i spoke to a nice person at the Samsung live chat help thing, they've told me there is no possible way round this, and that I'll need to return the device to EE. So that's disappointing *sighs and cries*
