Loss of Sound

Samsung Galaxy A21 - complete loss of media sound, callers can't hear me etc. Tried shut down and soft reset with no change

Is this happening in any & all apps that use sound? And is it affecting both the earpiece and loudspeaker mode?

 

You could try the various steps in this Samsung support article.

 

If all software solutions fail to resolve this, then your next step will be to start backing up all your phone's data with a view to performing a factory reset.

 

That will indicate whether this is a hardware fault or software issue.

Thanks for replying. Seems to apply to all apps Netflix, YouTube etc. Have done backup of data but still a bit wary of doing factory reset; in Tier4 area so all EE shops closed.

Hi James, thanks for replying. I will attempt a factory reset later fingers-crossed. I did try Samsung live chat, after robot was waiting for agent but got cut off!
